General Education Implementation Steering Committee
In the Spring of 2026, the Faculty Assembly endorsed 鈥淕rowing In Our World鈥 as the curriculum that will serve as the foundation for our general education program at 淫性视频, and the Faculty Senate endorsed the recommendations made in the Task Force for Reimagining General Education Task Force鈥檚 final report.
Collectively, we re-committed to
- 淫性视频鈥檚 distinctive separate, interdisciplinary, General Studies curriculum.
- Using both General Studies courses & program courses as vehicles for skill development in communication & quantitative literacy.
- 鈥淩ace, Equity, & Justice,鈥 potentially turning an R course into a signature sophomore/transfer seminar learning experience.
- Starting students strongly at 淫性视频, by making the First Year a launch pad and creating a transfer seminar to extend that high-impact practice and important initial touch point to transfer students.
As we move forward into an implementation phase, the Steering Committee will remain committed to addressing other elements we have heard stakeholders value, including
- Developing a more centralized, uniform, transparent, & fair course application/approval system.
- Addressing structural issues of administration & governance to ensure shared governance & manageable workloads.
- Re-evaluating procedures, policies, and practices that do not serve students well.
- Re-committing to General Education at 淫性视频, including through a strong effort to explain and promote the new system.
