At NJECC, public service extends beyond the workplace and into the communities that our employees and their families call home.

Each year from September through December, New Jersey's public employees are invited to participate in the New Jersey Employees Charitable Campaign, a voluntary workplace giving initiative that provides an opportunity to support charitable organizations addressing a broad range of health, environmental, educational and human service needs.

There is no obligation to participate. For employees who choose to give, NJECC offers a convenient and organized way to direct charitable contributions toward the causes and organizations that matter most to them.

Understanding the Campaign and Workplace Giving

What is the New Jersey Employees Charitable Campaign?

The New Jersey Employees Charitable Campaign (NJECC) is a statewide workplace giving program that allows eligible public employees to support participating charitable organizations through voluntary contributions.

The campaign brings together a diverse selection of nonprofit organizations, allowing employees to explore different causes and determine where they would like their contributions to go. Through a centralized giving process, employees can participate in charitable giving directly through their workplace.

Who can participate in the campaign?

The campaign is available to eligible employees throughout New Jersey's public sector. Participation is entirely voluntary, and employees may choose whether to participate and which charitable organizations they wish to support.

What types of organizations can I support?

NJECC provides employees with opportunities to support organizations representing a wide variety of charitable causes. Participating organizations may focus on areas such as:

  • Health and medical services
  • Education and youth development
  • Environmental conservation
  • Human services
  • Community development
  • Hunger and food security
  • Disaster relief
  • Veterans and military families
  • Animal welfare
  • International humanitarian efforts
How can I make a charitable contribution?

Eligible employees may have several options for contributing through NJECC, depending on the current campaign procedures. Workplace giving may allow employees to designate a contribution to one or more participating charitable organizations.

What is payroll deduction?

Payroll deduction allows an employee to spread a charitable pledge across multiple pay periods rather than making one larger payment. A designated amount is deducted from the employee's paycheck according to the campaign's established schedule and directed toward the selected charitable organization.

This option provides employees with a convenient way to incorporate charitable giving into their regular financial planning.

Participation

Participation in NJECC is completely voluntary. Employees are free to decide whether they would like to participate and whether workplace giving is right for them.

Can I change my giving preferences?

Giving preferences and payroll deductions are subject to the campaign's current procedures and applicable deadlines. Employees with questions about modifying an existing pledge should contact their designated NJECC or Human Resources representative for assistance.

Why participate?

Workplace giving provides an opportunity for public employees to extend their impact beyond their daily responsibilities. By supporting charitable organizations through NJECC, employees can contribute to programs and services that benefit individuals, families and communities throughout New Jersey and beyond.
